Personal – Sadie is 3!!! A Superhero party with an animated Gruffalo walk!

Last Sunday my little baby turned three, who I may add just seems to be getting taller and more grown up by the minute.  What a character she is!  We had thought we may not have a party this year but when she asked me when her party was going to be, we just couldn’t refuse her.  We decided on keeping it small and holding it at my in laws.  Sadly, they were away, so they missed all the fun.  It was the perfect day and possibly the best in Sadie’s little life yet.  She woke up to a big pile of presents, her favourite being her spiderman outfit, inspired by her 5 year old friend ‘Jake’ who recently answered the door as spiderman.  Jake is the bees knees in Sadie’s eyes and had been talking about this costume ever since.  Her smile was priceless.  After a lovely morning of pancakes and playing with her toys, and seeing great grandma it was PARTY time!

The party had a loose superheros theme.  We had fireman sam, Ariella, Tree foo Tom (hopefully thats right?), sleeping beauty and two spidermans!  I started the party by handing all the children a goody bag with a drink and a few snacks for our walk in the deep dark wood.  We then set off to read the Gruffalo story. I had wanted to print some of the gruffalo pictures and put them up in the woods to make the story more interactive, I didn’t manage this but the children where very animated and thoroughly enjoyed the story while we walked through the deep dark wood!

My AMAZING neighbour Beryl made Sadie her gorgeous princess birthday cake, which obviously had to have cows on it (a request from the birthday girl!).  Thank you to everyone who came, it was such a happy day, ending with a special bath with her brother.
