On an early December day Miss Ruby May and her mummy and daddy came by my house and we all went for an adventure to the park. I couldn’t get over how much this little darling had grown up.. I know they do… but the last time I saw her she was only 10 days old… see here. I love the chemistry with this family, they just love each other so much and are so grateful for their little Miss Ruby May. I hope I captured it?

Every Monday I try and feature one of my lovely portrait sessions. My approach is very relaxed yet engaging, usually I either go to my clients house or we meet somewhere fun outdoors. I do a lot of shoots in Christchurch Park, this works well as I live across the road. My clients come to my house first and have a cup of tea and a play, the children then get to see me without my camera which helps them relate to me. We then all walk across to the park. A shoot can consist of just one location(a tree… or the frog bench) or many depending on the child’s age and what captures their imagination. I often find myself playing hide and seek, looking for fairy writing on bark and many other magical things!
I’m often asked what families should wear or bring, always bring a change of clothes, wipes and snacks (raisins are gold!). For the parents clothes patterns and bright colours aren’t always the best in photos but in saying that whatever your most comfortable in! Other questions I get asked a lot is what is my child is sick on the day of our shoot? Quite simply they will be miserable and it isn’t fair on them, I would much rather re-schedule and I am happy to do this free of charge and ask that you let me know before 9am on the day of the shoot. I take full payment for the package you choose when you confirm your shoot time and date and in addition to sickness I will also re-schedule if the weather is appalling. I hope this helps with any questions you may have!
