Cyprus destination wedding {Maddy + James}

Last week I flew to Cyprus to capture the wedding of Maddy and James. You may remember that I ran this competition on facebook, which gained a huge a response. I picked the winner out of a hat and the lucky winners who had me photograph their wedding were this lovely couple. If you haven’t seen their pre-wedding shoot check it out here!

Maddy, your were a beautiful bride and I loved photographing your story. I also loved that you were guys were up for anything, we had so much fun! Thank you for inviting me to join your special meal the evening before, Ficardo’s was very special. Every single moment I was in James and Maddy’s company I could feel their connection and love. It was an absolute honour to capture their very special and intimate wedding. Thank you to Jayne the very great wedding planner at the Athena hotel in Paphos, Cyprus. What a fantastic wedding and venue!!!

Wedding Wednesday: Inspiring Fair trade Wedding Rings @ Jon Dibben {Helen +Andrew}

Today I am very excited to share with you the amazing day I had with one of my future bride and grooms. I meet them in the most gorgeous jewellers in Surrey where they helped to craft their wedding rings. If this wasn’t special enough they were also using fairtrade platinum. Gold and, more recently, platinum and silver that are certified to Fairtrade and Fairmined standards provide small scale miners and their communities in developing countries the opportunity for better living and working conditions.

Helen and Andrew’s rings are made from Fairtrade and Fairmined Ecological platinum from the Oro Verde mining co-operative in the Choco Bioregion in Colombia; also the source of the world’s first ecologically mined Fairtrade and Fairmined gold. “It was great fun having Helen and Andrew in the workshop, making their very own wedding rings. I am sure it is an experience that will stay with them for a long time, and almost become a ‘family legend’. They will certainly be reminded every time they look at their rings!”. The team at Jon Dibben were so welcoming and talented I now want to go back with my husband. I fell in love with a few of their pieces. The day I spent with Helen and Andrew I fell a lot in love with the way they are together and their relationship. I definitely fell in love with Helen’s baking .. those brownie’s were AMAZING!!! As I looked through the photos I felt that I had captured something really special and I am so honoured to have been involved in the day. Wedding Wednesday: Inspiring Venues {Bruisyard Hall}

Morning everyone! I have been dying to share with you the AMAZING Bruisyard Hall. The whole time I was there I was ooohing and awing. This venue is quite simply stunning. I love when weddings guests also stay at the same venue, it seems to create even more of a holiday festive feeling. Bruisyard Hall and Barns sleeps 24 people comfortably! “The Hall accommodates up to 20 guests, with an additional 2 rooms available in the adjacent Bruisyard Barn, enabling you to have up to 24 guests stay on the estate. The Barn also functions as an event venue in itself – the Medieval Hall, Banqueting Hall and Minstrels Gallery can be adapted to fulfil your every entertainment need, whatever the occasion.”

I can just imagine myself staying here with all of my friends and family for the weekend it would be ideal! The kitchen is everything you could ever want for a big group of people and more! The other quirky feature I really liked about this venue is in the attic of the hall there is a party room. It is out of this world. You go up to the third floor see a lovely double room and then open the next door to a long dark room with dark mirrors instead of paint, a bar in one corner luscious red sofas, big bean bags, a good sized tv and in the clock room there is a table all set up for poker. I can just imagine this is where the party continues and I just LOVE the surprise of this room, it was so unexpected!!! There are photos below. Sally, Oli and Lucas {Family Lifestyle} London

Visiting London makes me happy, documenting families in their natural settings makes me happy, observing the way they live and their beautiful new addition I just love. Oli, Sally and Lucas move from their home in London to Bangkok to become expats in a few months I hope these photos help to remember the special time that they are living now. Oh and Sally and Oli are Game of Thrones fans.. Awesome!

Family Adventure – Melbourne… Geelong Beach

Today I am sharing with you a little day trip we had while in Australia. Our little family and my sister went to visit my cousin who lives in a tiny little community behind the immensely scenic sand dunes on this surf beach near Geelong. We had a ball, it was great to catch up with my cousins and chat marriage and kids – one of them just got married and the other also now has two kids. So strange how things can change so quickly, when you live on the other side of the world. Our kids loved playing together and us kids… young, ok middle aged adults were able to take a walk at sunset once the kids where in bed (my aunt was happy to mind the kids) I will never forget that evening, it felt magical with the fresh sea air, the beautiful sun going down and catching up with my cousins. Was great. We even managed to all have a photo together. Ohhh and you’ll also spot Arthur just loved eating sand…

Maddy + James {pre-wedding shoot} Norwich

I met with fun and happy couple Maddy and James a few weeks ago in Norwich. Their wedding is next month in Cyprus, you may remember that they won a competition for me to do their wedding photography. I have spoken to Maddy loads on email and the phone but to meet them both in real life was just fab, it was great to hear all the details for their wedding and really just get to know them. I can’t wait for their wedding I just know it is going to be so much fun.

Australia Week 2 our visit to Healesville Sanctuary

Our time in Australia was fantastic, while there we took the kids to visit Healesville Sanctuary. This is where they care for and house just Australian animals. It is truly a fantastic place here are our holiday snaps of our visit. We had a lovely picnic and then saw the animals, I think it was 38 degrees that day so it was very hot, my grandma used to be a guide so we were lucky enough to have her point us in the right direction and ensure we saw all the animals we wanted to. After the Sanctuary we went to my aunts house and the kids enjoyed playing with her toys and in her vegetable garden. Was a lovely day and a real highlight of our trip.

In the above photo, Sadie wanted to kiss the 3rd deadliest snake in the world…

Bury St. Edmonds Athenaeum and Kiln Cafe Wedding

Last Saturday I photographed the beautiful wedding of Erika and Guy. They were married at the Athenaeum in Bury St. Edmonds and then had an intimate reception at the quirky Kiln Cafe, which is part of the Malthouse Project run by Genesis, a charitable institution that provides housing and support for people in need. Throughout their wedding planning they focused on what was important to them, their little family, I tried to really capture this! I love that the stunning dress worn by Erika, it was hired… what a fab idea!!! Link to come shortly!!! The flowers included my favourite Peony’s, Liliana Florists did her bouquet. This photo was taken of my babies after paddling at Badger Creek in Victoria, Australia. I love this photo so much for so many reasons, I love the day we had, I love their bottoms, I love the tenderness of this photo. I posted this on facebook and had loads of likes and comments but unfortunately I broke their rules, officially their “statement of rights and responsibilities” states you can’t post nude photos. I am sad that my art is offensive but I accept it. Unfortunately there are some sick people out there and they need to keep facebook a safe place. I was locked out of my account for 24 hours which was weird but actually nice, I won’t be breaking their rules again, though as Facebook is a part of my life and I would be sad and angry to have it taken away from me. I however, am going to try to only be on facebook once or twice a day at the most. It is so addictive isn’t it?
