Last Friday was the wedding of Bethany and Clayton and WOW what a day!!! I introduced you to them with the London pre-wedding shoot, click here to see the blog post. How cool os this… they invited their guests to their wedding on a tea towel… these two both love their tea… I LOVE that!! Their phenomenal wedding was hosted at the AMAZING Yaxley Hall, Suffolk. Their wedding was very special for so many reasons one being the venue, it really does feel like you’re at a friends country house and they are effortlessly hosting your wedding. I was blown away by how fantastic Richard and his staff were, everything ran so smoothly and it really felt like they weren’t clock watching and did their absolute BEST to make it the most amazing wedding ever.
My second shooter Helen Kirkman (thanks again Helen for your hard work!) and I, arrived at Yaxley at 10.30am to a lovely calm and happy atmosphere and thats the way it was all day long. Bethany had the biggest grin on her face while she had her make-up done and then her hair. I fell in love with her dress which she got from the lovely Lavender and Jude, it’s by the Belgium designer Marylise. Oh don’t you love both sets of shoes, gorgeous Rainbow shoes for the most of the day and then special wedding converse for dancing! Richard had prepared a scrumptious brunch which I always think is an excellent idea.. well I generally do just love food!!! The flowers which Victoria of Victoria Strowger flowers had done where beyond stunning, I’ve said it before but that girl really knows and gets flowers.
Once Clayton had arrived and then the guest started arriving I could just feel the buzz and excitement in the air. The ceremony was gorgeous with Bethany walking down the isle with her dad while the beautiful notes of the piano filled the room, Clayton’s little smile when he saw Bethany warmed my heart and Bethany just looked so happy!
The rain didn’t dampen the spirits of the day and if anything it added to the fun, we had great fun with wellington boots and reflections in the puddles. Yaxley has a permanent marquee which is more like a massive ballroom, the room looked great and I was very impressed with all the little details. The children had little tin boxes with activities and the cutest little aprons to protect their pretty dresses. The adults were given beautiful tea cups and paper bags for them to take them home in, Bethany and her mother had collected them individually from charity shops. The center pieces were tea pots with Victoria’s stunning flowers and the table numbers where cut out from twinings boxes. Such a lovely theme that suits them!!! The wedding fruit cake was made by Bethany’s brother and Bethany’s mother, Maxine made the most amazing fudge (I swear if you want me to stay later at your wedding give me fudge it gives me energy!). Maxine also made delicious brownies and scones and jame and cream. The whole wedding was very creative and a lot done themselves there really are too many glorious little details to mention them.
Due to the rain we did the confetti in the marquee we (all of us) had such fun!
I will stop chattering on and with out further ado here are the photos, I do hope you like them and Congratulations Bethany and Clayton, here is to lifetime of happiness together. Oh and please say someone filmed your first dance it was brilliant I want to see it again!!!
Ohh and WOW Yaxley Hall have their own pink Champagne… cool!
